Tiny Dancer #4

Comics Alliance's Chris Sims has a Photoshop-enabled humor feature up titled The ComicsAlliance Mixtape: 13 Songs We Wish Were Comics. As implied, Sims takes old comic book covers and alters them into representations of classic songs. 1963's The Atom #4 becomes Tiny Dancer, star of the 1971 Elton John hit. There's a dozen more, my favorite a Ramones Judy/Pussycats mash-up, so check 'em out.

Awww...I thought that was real for a moment!! Guess an Elton John reference in comicsdom is too much to ask for.

This is slightly off-topic but in a simiar vein...did you happen to see the "Super Hero Research Papers" at Comics Alliance? Unfortunately no Martians or Tiny Titans made the cut but hey, you could always make your own up! (I would post the link but ipods don't really let you copy and paste...)

I could swear this was our second discussion of mixing Elton John with super-heroes. Strange place.

I used to follow Chris Sims' blog, but got tired of it usually just being a link station for articles he'd done elsewhere. Until I started looking at Comics Alliance for Bloodlines, my reading there was very sporadic. I'll have to hunt "SHRP" down...

...and I'm back. Funny! The Daredevil one was the geekiest, but I enjoyed the certainty of Superman's disguise best. "Glasses Lois! C'mon!."

The Superman one was one of the best. I liked the Batman one, too. Nothing beats fists!
